Booklet Nº3: Three New Slab Building Pottery Templates for Vases
The FromFran booklet series has a new installment, and this one is the most sculptural yet.
Booklet Nº3 isn't a single product — it's a collection of three individual vessel pottery templates, each sold separately and each with its own personality. Meet Fuste, Madre, and Bulbo: three handbuilding forms inspired by pre-Columbian ceramics from the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino in Santiago.
Each booklet is $8 and comes as both a physical copy and a digital PDF download — the same format you know from Booklet Nº1 (Tiny Vessels) and Booklet Nº2 (Daily Vessels).
Fuste Vessel — Booklet Nº3
Fuste is architectural. Three stacked conic sections create a form with clean lines and deliberate proportions, finishing at approximately 30cm tall. This is a ceramic slab building template that translates well to gallery work or a signature studio collection — structured, modular, and precise.
Madre Vessel — Booklet Nº3
Madre is the most dynamic form in the collection. Three distinct sections flow into each other in a silhouette that rewards careful slab work. At approximately 35cm tall, it's a pottery vase template that goes beyond the predictable — one of those pieces that looks different from every angle.
Bulbo Vessel — Booklet Nº3
Bulbo is the floor piece. A refined cylindrical neck rises from a wide, organic base — an elongated printable pottery template at approximately 35cm tall. The base rewards surface treatment, the neck rewards restraint. A handbuilding pattern designed for the kind of vessel you put in the corner and let do the talking.
What's Included in Each Booklet
Each of the three booklets includes full-scale slab building templates. They come printed on studio-friendly paper — ready to trace, no resizing needed — plus an instant digital download PDF.
Booklet Nº3 is designed for intermediate to advanced makers who are comfortable with slab construction, scoring and slipping, and assembling multi-part forms.
